Hey, I pray everyone’s doing well! So much has happened! I graduated high school, got a new job, and changed trips.
The new trip will be a three-month trip (Aug 31-November 16) and we’ll go to South Africa and Eswatini. In each place, we will be serving in homes, working in orphanages, and helping at schools. God has been so good and taught me a lot in the past couple of months. Every day is a reminder that He’s in control and it’s way better when I let Him handle everything. Changing trips was not taken lightly, it was done with much prayer and council. I had a hard time accepting it, but I had to remember that God’s plan was far bigger and better than I could imagine. There are still days when I do want to go on the other trip and wonder what it would be like, but I remind myself that it’s His will over mine.
I was disappointed and cried, but He’s faithful. I’m so thankful for all of you supporting me. Since I changed trips, my goal became much smaller and with only 70 days away, I only need $1,100! Everyone has been so generous and kind and the other day I was praying for my fundraising and two days later got a check in the mail! It has been so cool to watch God work in my life in ways I never had thought of.
With only 70 days till I launch, I already have most of my gear. I found a tent and sleeping pad off of Facebook Marketplace. Got my pillow and clothesline from REI the other day, and a day bag as a graduation present. From here all I have is a couple of little odds and ends.
Thank you all so much and I pray you’re doing well. Please keep me in your prayers for strength and guidance as I prepare to launch. Pray that my family will stay safe, and for those who we’re going to be ministering to.
